Amilla Wilson knows a thing or two about finding the right
ingredients for success. Her path from a high school student
facing mental and financial struggles to a scholarship
recipient and future nurse is a testament to the power of
resilience, community, and finding your passion.

Finding Purpose in the Kitchen

Growing up, Amilla faced a complex blend of challenges.
She speaks candidly about the pressure of managing
responsibilities at home and the impact it had on her social
and academic life, especially during the COVID-19
pandemic. "I just remember trying to hide anything I was
going through from the outside and just feeling isolated," she
recalls.

Amidst these struggles, a turning point came in the most
unexpected of places: the kitchen. Amilla was drawn to her
high school's culinary arts program and honor society. For
her, it wasn't just about cooking; it was about creativity and
community. "I like to think that I am a very creative person
and I get to put my passion and feeling into the work I
create," she explains.
